Order City General Election to be held May 7, 2016, 11. Order City Special Election to be held May 7, 2016 for the “reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the City of Muleshoe at the rate of 1/4 % to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal street. The tax expires on the fourth anniversary of the date of this election unless the imposition of the tax is reauthorized. 12. Administrative Reports: a. The City held a Wellness Clinic on Wednesday, February 3rd. Thirty five employees and dependents participated in the clinic. b. Thank you to the Muleshoe Public Works Department, all first responders including the Muleshoe Police Department and the Muleshoe Volunteer Fire Department, and all others who participated, for their work during the Goliath snow storm. c.Plan for a work session for City staff and City Council to look at future prospective projects. 13. See video of winter storm Goliath hitting the South Plains and Muleshoe, Texas, on December 26, 27, 28, 2015. The blizzard dumped 7.5″ of snow in Muleshoe and brought 60+ mph gusts that created large snow drifts across all of the area. U.S. Highway 84/70 was closed West of Muleshoe toward Farwell due to the hazardous driving conditions. Highway 84 was reopened to traffic Monday afternoon.
