See our interview with MHS art teacher Alyssa Lopez about her student’s entry into the Vans Custom Culture High School Shoe Customization Contest along with Oliver Puckett, Mary Rodriguez and Luke Del Toro who helped paint the two pairs of shoes. The MHS shoes have been named one of the 50 finalist from around the country in the competition and is in the running for $75,000 for the art department among other prizes.
