Remembering Ronnie Jones, February 28, 1941 – January 22, 2014.  Funeral service for Ronnie Jones, 72, of Muleshoe, was 11a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014, at the First Baptist Church.  Burial was at 11a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, in Hollis, Oklahoma.  See our February 10, 1988, interview with Ronnie about his western movie memorabilia collection conducted at the Watson Junior High School Library.  Ronnie was our good friend and sports announcer for Channel 6 for over 30 years and will be greatly missed.  He was a teacher, coach and administrator in the Muleshoe schools for 40 years. Ronnie is survived by his mother, Johnnie Argo of Hollis, Oklahoma, one sister, Pam Clifford of Clovis, an Uncle Bob Graves of Muleshoe and his girlfriend Monica Oaxaca of El Paso. Ronnie’s passions were Muleshoe Mules, Lady Mules and OU Sooner sports along with New York Yankee Baseball and collecting western movie memorabilia.  He grew up attending Ron schools near Hollis, Oklahoma, picking cotton on his father’s farm and watching movies at the La Vista and Watt Theaters in Hollis every Saturday.  Ronnie graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State College in Weatherford.

Interview with Shirley James on her retirement from the Muleshoe Area Medical Center in Muleshoe, Texas.  Shirley has been employed for 25 years at the MAMC and was honored with a retirement luncheon on January 3, 2014, at the hospital.

Dyan Dunagan shows the new Muleshoe Area Public Library Memorial Book Tree.  It will stay up all year round and to purchase a spot on this memorial tree come donate $10 and they will paint the spine of a book and print the name in gold ink.  The money raised will be used to buy new books.

Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce President Gina Wilkerson draws for the $1,000 in Mule Bucks and $50 gift certificates from participating businesses in the 2013 Christmas Around Muleshoe event.  Drawing was held on December 17, 2013, at the Oneita Wagnon Senior Citizens Center in Muleshoe, Texas.

Dillman Elementary 2nd grade Christmas program “The True Spirit of Christmas Contest” presented on December 13, 2012, in Muleshoe, Texas.  The principal at Dillman Elementary is Dani Heathington and the music director is Julia Rogers.
