Harvest Fresh Produce, open Monday-Saturday 9a.m-6p.m., featuring red & yellow watermelons and just in black diamond watermelons grown right here in Texas, huge load of just out of the garden tomatoes.  They also carry fresh squash, zucchini, pinto beans, potatoes, green beans, black-eyed peas, sweet yellow onions, red onions & super colossal onions, cucumbers, cantaloupes, mangoes, peaches, red potatoes and russet potatoes will arrive very soon!  Harvest Fresh is just in front of Barrett Produce east of Muleshoe on Highway 84 and arriving soon they will have okra and sweet corn!

Hear our interview with Bailey County Pioneer Jack Schuster conducted on February 4, 2014.   Funeral service for Jack Schuster, 87 of Muleshoe, was held on July 9, 2014, at the First Baptist Church.   Jack was a lifetime resident of the Muleshoe community.  He farmed south of Muleshoe for over 70 years.  He served on the Needmore Gin board for over 30 years; the Bailey County Farm Bureau board for 2 terms; the High Plains Research Foundation Board as a Lifetime Member; and was one of the oldest members of the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe.  Jack received the Celebration of the Land Award for participation in the Great Plains Conservation Program in 1995 and the Outstanding Conservation Farmer Award in 1975.   Jack talks about rural electrification in Bailey County, the paving of Highway 214 and the advances he has seen in farming over his lifetime.

See the Running Water Draw running on the South Plains of Texas after heavy downpours in the Clovis, New Mexico and Bovina, Texas area on July 2, 2014.  The Runningwater Draw is a headstream of the Blanco River that begins in Curry County, New Mexico and enters Texas in Parmer County.   The video was shot just south of Bovina, Texas, north of Clay’s Corner, Texas and north of Lazbuddie, Texas in Parmer County.

Crop duster crash site near Farm-to-Market Road 2910 in Lamb County, Texas, close to Tolk Plant on June 26, 2014.  The pilot working for King Ag Aviation of Sudan, Texas, reportedly walked away from the crash unharmed.  The pilot has been identified as 23 year old Lachlan Jones by KCBD.

See some of the rain and pea and marble sized hail that fell in Muleshoe, Texas, on June 18, 2014.  Muleshoe received 1.35″ as of 7p.m. causing flooding in many low lying areas.  The West Texas Mesonet station, 2 miles south of Muleshoe, got 1.43″ of rain as of 7p.m.   The 2014 rain totals for Muleshoe including this precipitation are 8.98″ at the National Weather Service Station at Channel 6 and 8.33″ at the Mesonet Station 2 miles south of Muleshoe.
