Colonel Kristin Goodwin, 2nd Bomb Wing commander, presents Senior Airman TJ Brantley, 2nd Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordinance Disposal technician, the Purple Heart during the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, on September 11, 2014. Brantley received wounds from an improvised explosive device that detonated within ten feet during a sustained firefight. In addition, Brantley received the Combat Action Medal for his participation in the firefight. TJ is a 2007 Muleshoe High School graduate and the son of Curby and Kay Brantley and grandson of Curby and Mary Janice Brantley and Norma Prather. Tropical Storm Odile brings heavy rains to the Muleshoe area with 3.20″ falling on September 18 & 19, 2014, at the NWS Station at Channel 6. The WT Mesonet station, 2 miles south of Muleshoe, received 3.35″. Get more details in our daily Muletrain News program.
