Here are some cotton facts for the area from Plains Cotton, Inc.: the average number of cotton bales the Texas High Plains produces each year is 3.7 million, in 2015, the top 11 cotton-producing counties in the nation were within 80 miles of Lubbock, the nation’s No. 1 cotton-producing state is Texas. The High Plains produces two-thirds of Texas cotton and cottonseed; 20-30 percent of U.S. cotton and cottonseed; and 3-5 percent of world cotton and cottonseed. In 2014 Bailey County planted 79,800 acres of cotton, harvested 61,800 acres, and produced 71,000 bales of cotton. A bale of cotton weighs 500 pounds.
See the 17th Annual Muleshoe Meals-on-Wheels Benefit Concert featuring a 60’s and 70’s Tribute Show and Christmas Celebration held at the Trinity Christian Center Church in Muleshoe, Texas, on December 2, 2016. The concert raised $5,682.81 for the Muleshoe Meals on Wheels program. The show features Reydon Stanford, Kenneth Richards, Betty Hutton, Heather Garcia, Michelle Young, Alyssa Stanford, Bryan Morris, Nate Stanford, Bryleigh Schovajsa and the Trinity Christian Band.
