The NWS Station at Channel 6 received 1.01″ of rain, Muleshoe Mesonet got .77″ and the Earth Mesonet next to Tolk Plant received .43″. Precipitation and storm chances continue through the weekend into next week. The Bailey County Burn Ban has been lifted until the next meeting of the Bailey County Commissioners Court on May 13th. See the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps Head Basketball Coach Steve Gomez speech to the Muleshoe Rotary Club from April 30, 2019, at the Bailey County Coliseum in Muleshoe, Texas. Coach Gomez recently coached the Lady Chaps to their second NCAA Division II National Title. Muleshoe Rotary Club President is Tim McCormick, Sweetheart is Keely Dunham and the program was introduced by Gary Hooten.

The MHS shoes have been named one of the 50 finalist from around the country in the competition and is in the running for $75,000 for the art department among other prizes. See video of the 2019 Muleshoe Art Association’s Art Show held April 1st-5th at the AimBank Meeting Room in Muleshoe, Texas, judged by Dyan Newman of Abernathy.  Robert Johnson announces the winners which includes the Best of Show by Neal Kleman of Sudan.   The AimBank Purchase Award went to a painting by Lois Snyder.  1^st Place People’s Choice Award went to Sandi Chitwood, 2^nd Place to Melba Bratcher and 3^rd to Ann Johnson.   Sandi Chitwood announces the winner of the student art show which include Luke Leal winning the Best of Show and the Muleshoe Art Association Scholarship was given to Fernando Salamanca.  Get the full list of winners in the video and see every piece of artwork entered into the 2019 show.
