European/Asian Crane Spotted for First Time in Texas near Muleshoe

On November 18, 2014, Justin Bosler spotted a Eurasian Common Crane (Grus Grus) on Goose Lake at the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge near Muleshoe, Texas.  This was the first time the Common Crane was ever seen in the state of Texas and one of the few times it has been seen in North America.   See our interview with Texas Tech graduate student Justin Bosler and birder Brent Franklin about the Common Crane.  Thousands of birders from all over the country have traveled to see the Common Crane in the Muleshoe area since the original spotting.
